LarsGöran Wärn, born 1949. DDS 1974 at the Royal Karolinska Institute, Stockholm. General practioner in different towns all over Sweden 1974-1987. Founder of Swedent Clinic 1991 after an Oral health Mission in Bansang 1987-1990. Presently working as a Hospital Dentist in Stockholm. Also registered as GP in UK. Married to Angela Maroun since 1990, with a daughter Amalia born 1991.

Dr.Des Pyper

Graduated from Bristol University with a BDS, Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a Diploma in General dental practice from the Royal College. Trained with the Royal Naval Reserve for 14 years looking after Saturation Divers in the North Sea, and as Dental Consultant to North Sea Medical Centre based in Gt.Yarmouth and Aberdeen in UK. Post graduate studies in the Pankey Institute in Florida and other American cities regularly since 1970’s Supervising Examiner with the National Exam.Board of Dental Nurses in UK since 1985 Dental Member on the Panel of The Dental Complaints Board of The General Dental Council since its inception in 2006. Currently semi- Retired from Private General dental Practice in Jersey, Channel Isles and happy to work in Gambia with our Dental Team of European Colleagues.

Lamin Kebbeh, manager since 1992. Worked at the hospital in Banjul before he started with the Eastern Gambian Oral health project in Bansang as a chairside nurse. Lives in Kunkujang with his family, speaks several languages


Jabou Sallah Ndure, chairside nurse

I am Jabou Sallah, a Gambian, staying with my family in Kanifing Estate. I started working at Swedent clinic as a dental Nurse 2008. I am assisting the dentist and I also do scaling, polishing and teethwhitening in the clinic by myself. I am also a member of Teethsavers, some times we go to schools to teach the school children, and the community, how to take care of their oral health. I really like to work, love everybody with a nice smile.

Amadou Jallow, chairside nurse

I am a Gambian, single. I started as a volunteer at Afrikaada Teethsavers and I have been helping them with Oral Health work. Then I joined Swedent Clinic as an assistent. I work with taking x-rays, panorama x-rays, dentures, computer, and I also enjoy working with the dentists.
